ST. LOUIS, Feb. 25, 2010 — Fleishman-Hillard International Communications today announced that Danielle Hurtt has been promoted to the position of vice president and director of marketing.
In her new role, Hurtt will develop and direct an integrated corporate marketing program to promote the firm’s brand worldwide. Her major areas of responsibility will include oversight of earned, paid and social media, marketing of the agency through its various Web sites, and coordination of industry recognition programs, marketing events and branded research.
“The approach to effectively market a professional services firm has shifted dramatically in recent years,” said Dave Senay, the firm’s president and chief executive officer. “The convergence of online with offline media, the rise of ‘conversation marketing’ and ‘social business’ all open the door to a new wave of highly targeted, engaging and effective means of reaching our key audiences.”
Senay said that Hurtt is well-suited to take on the mantle of a “renaissance communicator” in the new age. “In recent years, Danielle has played a growing role in our digital marketing efforts and in managing our online presence via our Web site. Now she’s putting that experience to work to take our agency brand-building and thought-leadership efforts to the next level,” he said.
“Our firm creates a lot of intellectual content,” Senay said. “We have 30 practice groups focusing on industries, audiences and specialties. I expect Danielle to help us direct our intellectual property to create the greatest amount of impact and connection with affinity groups.”
In addition to her corporate marketing responsibilities, Hurtt will work with the firm’s regional presidents and senior managers to intensify local marketing efforts. She also will chair the Fleishman-Hillard Brand Council and will direct the firm’s marketing activities within Omnicom Group. She will report to Kurt Wehrsten, the firm’s vice chairman of operations.
Hurtt joined Fleishman-Hillard’s St. Louis headquarters office in 2003 as a member of the marketing communications team. In the course of her work for a number of the firm’s major clients, she has developed expertise in sports marketing, retail marketing, grassroots outreach and search engine optimization.
Hurtt holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the School of Journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she graduated number one in her class.
