Position Overview and Responsibilities:

We are currently seeking a Senior Vice President to join our global team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned PR counselor to play a key role in assisting pharmaceutical and health technology clients with their external public relations and communications activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise account work streams and staff teams in D.C. and across other US and global geographies
  • Keep senior account leader fully briefed on account status and issues that may affect the business.
  • Develop and present plans for integrated communications campaigns around healthcare issues and products that reach diverse stakeholders including internal and external audiences such as medical professionals, healthcare executives, , advocacy groups, policy influencers and consumers
  • Liaise with other marketing agency partners to plan and execute integrated campaigns
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships at mid-to-senior levels; build/recruit strong agency account teams
  • Provide sophisticated, creative and proactive recommendations that demonstrate how communications can deliver against brand marketing goals
  • Direct the development of client materials:  plans, presentations, reports, memos, budgets, conference reports, POV documents
  • Oversee development of media materials: press releases, fact sheets, backgrounders, white papers, pitch letters
  • Oversee campaign budget development, tracking, billing and communications
  • Supervise and train junior and mid-level account staff; provide quality control and oversee team assignments
  • Maintain a high level of personal billability
  • Participate in new business pitches, including proposal writing, research, creative ideation, budgeting and presentation

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate will be self-motivated, organized, creative, and possess strong leadership qualities.
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of agency experience in developing and implementing public relations programs specifically related to healthcare products.
  • Experience with medical devices, health information technology, and home health clients helpful. Experience executing global healthcare campaigns also helpful.
  • Candidate should have served as the senior lead on at least one healthcare account.
  • Candidate should have experience executing integrated campaigns across multiple channels including managing successful major media programs and a proven track record of success in securing placements personally, or in managing others who do.  Additionally candidate should be comfortable integrating social media elements and stakeholder engagement activities into campaigns.
  • Candidate should be comfortable supporting the agency’s ideals of delivering a superb client experience and demonstrating dedication, persistence, loyalty and integrity in all dealings with clients and coworkers.

This individual must also possess: 

  • Demonstrated experience in planning, selling and managing global communications programs
  • Strong organization and project management abilities; ability to juggle, think quickly and make independent decisions
  • Previous experience managing healthcare product communications, healthcare and science programs; understanding of the healthcare regulatory environment
  • Proven client counsel, client relationship building and team management skills; has grown accounts
  • Effective problem solving abilities: candidate can get things moving, keep them on track, and understands how to switch gears when needed
  • Professional writing and presentation skills; can translate clinical data into lay language and simplify large amounts of information
  • Understand  the evolving media environment:  healthcare industry, national media, consumer and business media, and the digital/social media environment
  • Ability to lead and work within team structure; proven experience overseeing large client programs with multiple projects
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Word
