Position Overview and Responsibilities:
Fleishman-Hillard is currently seeking a position for a Corporate Communications professional with a strong Digital Strategy background for its Corporate and Public Affairs practice in New York City.
This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment alongside a seasoned team of corporate and public affairs experts to meet the executive-level communications needs of a wide-range of local and global corporations, governments, industries and other organizations.
In particular, this individual will be responsible for strategic counsel on digital and social communications for the team’s corporate and public affairs clients. The candidate should have experience managing client assignments and overseeing client projects from conception through implementation, with a strong background in weaving in digital strategy for corporate and public affairs clients. In this role, the candidate will have a proven track record in using digital and social strategies to manage corporate reputation, crisis and issues situations, and public affairs. The successful candidate will organize, track and coordinate projects to ensure that output is on-time, high quality and meets business and communications goals. We are seeking a creative thinker that has the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with client teams to counsel and integrate digital and social strategy.
- Managing strategic communications and corporate reputation project for clients.
- Collaborating with cross-functional team to implement online solutions – leading social media development and initiatives and providing client counsel in the social media space
- Working closely with new business development as it relates to both traditional and digital corporate communications strategy.
- Keep abreast of continual evolution of digital/marketing communications marketplace, both through work project demands and proactive exploration, providing group wide updates.
- Supporting implementation of custom initiatives like newsletters and microsites while ensuring that all web requests are completed on time.
- Determining work flow priorities, building detailed site maintenance plans and executing tasks on time and in order.
- Developing project plans, scope, budget and requirement documents.
Qualifications:
- 6 plus years of public relations agency experience, with an emphasis on corporate communications, issues management, or crisis communications.
- 3-5 years digital and social experience with project management.
- Strong client-management skills.
- A passion and proven track record of success using social media tools including Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, LinkedIn, YouTube, Digg, Flickr, Forums, Blogs, etc..in the corporate communications space
- Results-oriented with strong leadership, account management, and new business skills.
- Self-motivated, independent worker and thinker with positive attitude and ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment.
- Passionate about the digital space and being an evangelist for the team, for new technology, for innovation, and continual learning.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, political science or related field.
- Excellent writing abilities with extensive experience in all forms of corporate and executive communication, from corporate news releases to executive talking points.
- Demonstrated experience drafting and executing strategic public relations plans on target and within budget.
- A proven ability to develop compelling, insight-based proposals and present them effectively and persuasively.
- Advanced knowledge of business media and well-developed skills in building and maintaining media relationships.
- Experience with pitching business and corporate stories to top-tier and trade media outlets.
- A detail-oriented approach, with the ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
