This is an exciting career opportunity for a seasoned public relations counselor who excels at client relationship management, team management and new business development to join a dynamic group doing innovative work for a range of clients.
The Managing Director will play a critical role in determining the future and long-term success of the Fleishman-Hillard India offices. Your focus will be largely on team management, business development and a wider scope of responsibilities in terms of managing account profitability and staff across India. You will be responsible for playing a key role in the management of the India offices while providing overall staff leadership, sound strategic counsel and direction to existing clients, as well as managing senior-level client relationships.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide thought leadership in areas of expertise including participation, in speaking platforms, networking events and bylined articles to grow Fleishman-Hillard India’s visibility and reputation
- Organize new business research and information gathering
- Assess new business leads
- Develop new business initiatives
- Participate in new business pitch development and/or presentations
- Provide top-tier strategic counsel
- Keep client programs on schedule and ensure all deadlines are met
- Develop and maintain extremely strong interpersonal relationships with senior clients
- Serve as a primary contact for the senior client
- Address any issues, trouble shoot problems and provide strategic counsel
- Proactively handle client problems and issues quickly and adeptly
- Develop quality standards and ensure client satisfaction
- Build and nurture client relationships
- Identify opportunities to engage other senior executives within Fleishman-Hillard to ensure growth of account
- Responsible for setting a standard of excellent and consistent quality work
- Ensure client satisfaction on all office accounts
- Responsible for developing media relations strategy and delivering results
- Be knowledgeable about media trends (online and traditional) as well as top-tier media personnel shifts
- Provide counsel on strategic plans
- Provide leadership, direction and guidance to account teams
- Work with peers to further the mission, goals and culture of the agency
- Mentor individuals so that they are able to achieve their professional goals
- Key contact for internal account staff to address issues
- Ensure that account team members adhere to agency time reporting and financial guidelines
- Participate in the development of the annual business plan and budgets
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field
- Minimum 15 years of public relations or related experience, preferably in an agency environment;
- An entrepreneur who is motivated by challenge and the ability to grow a successful team. Installing fresh ideas is important;
- Possess strong people and presentation skills and a proven track record in winning new business;
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-level strategy to clients and to build lasting, mutually rewarding client relationships;
- Strong hands-on leadership, organization, prioritization and project management abilities;
- Possess high level of energy, excitement, and enthusiasm. A team driven orientation is critical;
- Excellent management skills including the ability to coach, motivate, lead and inspire.
