Position Overview and Responsibilities:

Fleishman-Hillard is currently seeking Corporate Communications professionals for its Corporate and Public Affairs practice in New York City.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment alongside a seasoned team of corporate and public affairs experts to meet the executive-level communications needs of a wide-range of local and global corporations, governments, industries and other organizations.

You’ll work with collaborative teams on corporate positioning and reputation, crisis situations, internal communications, issues management, labor communications and high-level media relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Write client materials, pitching reporters at trade and mainstream media outlets.
  • Executing issues/crisis management programs
  • Generating executive visibility opportunities and advancing corporate communications strategies that embrace the clients strategy and positioning.
  • Handling the day-to-day management of clients’ online profile and community management activities.
  • Contributing to new business proposal development and managing administrative aspects of client accounts.

Qualifications:

  • 4-8 years of public relations agency experience, with an emphasis on corporate communications, issues management, or crisis communications.
  • Excellent writing abilities with extensive experience in all forms of corporate and executive communication, from corporate news releases to executive talking points.
  • Demonstrated experience drafting and executing strategic public relations plans on target and within budget.
  • Proven ability to development compelling proposals and represent them effectively and persuasively.
  • Advanced knowledge of business media and well-developed skills in building and maintaining media relationships.
  • Experience with pitching business and corporate stories of all types to various media outlets.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.
  • Healthcare experience helpful but not required
  • Experience with digital media and social networking tactics and program development.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, political science or related field.
