Position Overview and Responsibilities:

The San Francisco office has an immediate opening for a Managing Supervisor to join our dynamic corporate reputation practice. This position provides a fantastic opportunity for a passionate PR practitioner to assist nationally-known clients in the telecommunications, sports and gaming industries with their public relations and communications activities. You’ll work closely with collaborative teams on corporate positioning and reputation, and high-level media relations.
Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate will work with senior members of the team to manage and execute integrated communications programs that embrace all areas of corporate reputation management, including message platforms and activation, executive visibility programming, leadership communications and issues management.
- Maintain and develop strong traditional and online media relationships; review/assess industry trends to identify opportunities to inject FH’s clients into current news cycles; drive story idea development, work closely with media to shape and control communications that are in line with overall account objectives.
- As a strategic counselor, the candidate will serve as the day-to-day contact for several clients, and manage teams on program execution.
- In addition to developing and managing budgets and plans and executing day-to-day deliverables, the Managing Supervisor will manage projects and clients, and pursue new business by contributing to proposals and opportunities.
- Play a pivotal role in handling many of the day-to-day deliverables for cross-functional teams, including content creation and oversight as well as project and account management.
- Develop and edit high-quality written materials, including press releases, pitch letters, background materials, planning documents and executive communications.
Qualifications:
- The successful candidate must be results oriented and have a strong understanding of current trends in corporate reputation management. Experience executing global and regional corporate reputation programs is a plus. Additionally, candidates should have:
- Minimum of 8 years of agency experience in developing and implementing integrated communications programs, ideally with large, national brands.
- A background in sports, gaming and the overall technology industry is highly desired.
- Previous experience working with national and global brands is also a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of business, consumer technology and vertical trade media, and well-developed-skills in building and maintaining traditional and digital media relationships. A demonstrated hands-on media approach is required.
- The ability to develop and generate support for strategic, comprehensive communications plans that apply creative tactics and use a variety of communication channels, including digital (e-mail, social media, blogs and intranet), print publications and brochures, executive memos, face-to-face meeting scripts/talking points, special events, video, and FAQs.
- Excellent writing abilities with extensive experience in all forms of corporate and executive communication, from corporate news releases to executive talking points.
- Experience executing social media campaigns with solid understanding of Facebook and Twitter is a plus.
- A strong team orientation is critical based on the collaborative culture of the office and Fleishman–Hillard.
- Ability to illustrate a results-focused approach and commitment to going the extra mile for clients. Experience working directly with clients on day-to-day activities.
- Energetic, self-starter and resourceful problem solver – gets things moving and keeps them on track. High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple ongoing activities.
- Good interpersonal skills, can work effectively in a team environment, negotiate approvals diplomatically, and maintain composure and quality under deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
