Dan Pierce Brings Extra Horsepower to Fleishman-Hillard in the Motor City
DETROIT, July 5, 2012 – Fleishman-Hillard International Communications today announced that Dan Pierce, a veteran brand communications counselor, has rejoined the firm as a senior vice president working on the General Motors account. Pierce, who will be based in Detroit, previously worked for Fleishman-Hillard in Kansas City and St. Louis from 2000 to 2005.
Pierce, 35, was most recently with Ford Motor Co., where he led the environmental and safety communications team at its Dearborn, Mich., headquarters for the past two years. His responsibilities included developing and activating launch programs for Ford's electrified vehicle family, proactively telling the company's sustainability story and managing vehicle safety recalls. In his new role with the Fleishman-Hillard team in Detroit, Dan will report to Tom Pyden, senior vice president and partner.

Throughout his career, Pierce has led consumer awareness programs and communications strategies for some of the world's biggest brands, most notably Anheuser-Busch, where he served as a director of international communications. In this role, Pierce helped launch Budweiser in new markets such as Russia and India while growing brand awareness in critical markets, including China and the United Kingdom. Pierce also developed and activated strategic communications plans to support Budweiser's global sports sponsorships, including the Olympic Games, FIFA World Cup and the English Premier League.
Pierce started his career in 1999 as a public relations intern for the Cleveland Indians baseball club. As a member of the Indians' communications team, he developed content for the team's media guide, yearbook and website during the 2000 baseball season.
Pierce graduated with honors from the University of Missouri-Columbia with bachelor's degrees in journalism and history. He is a resident of Novi, Mich.
