Every month until the general election, FleishmanHillard TRUE will be releasing its U.S. Election Buzz Tracker for the top presidential candidates in each party. This data is gathered through our FH TrueIQ platform, and identifies the conversation surrounding candidates on social media. While this report provides interesting fodder for discussion, it is worth noting that the numbers do not take sentiment into account and are not representative of poll numbers.
Unsurprisingly, Donald Trump generated the highest buzz during the month of November, but his gains have been smaller than his top two rivals, Ben Carson and Ted Cruz. This aligns with recent polls that still have Trump leading the GOP, but by a recently shrinking margin. The Republican candidate on the rise appears to be Ted Cruz, as he has seen a 54% increase in buzz in November.
On the Democratic side of things, Hillary Clinton’s buzz puts her in a narrow lead over Bernie Sanders. However, all three candidates saw a decrease in their mentions this November.
