Carey Tarbell Appointed General Manager; Mike Marker Named Managing Director

WASHINGTON, D.C., September 7, 2017 – VOX Global, a FleishmanHillard specialty brand, has promoted Carey Tarbell to general manager, and Mike Marker to managing director.

“VOX is a key driver of our global public affairs offering and these new appointments for Carey and Mike will benefit clients, colleagues and our network,” said John Saunders, president and CEO of FleishmanHillard.

Tarbell’s new responsibilities will include overall management and growth of the firm, which is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and has teams in Boston; Dallas; Indianapolis, Ind.; Nashville, Tenn.; New York; Portland, Maine; Raleigh, N.C.; Sacramento, Calif.; and Tokyo.

Tarbell joined VOX Global in 2007 after serving as executive director of the National Journal’s Policy Council, owned by Atlantic Media, and more than 13 years at Powell Tate|Weber Shandwick. She began her career in the Public Law Policy division of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld.

Marker’s new role will include oversight of the firm’s field offices and team, directing the strategy, business development and culture.

After starting his career as a journalist, Marker worked for Ruder Finn in New York City before joining FleishmanHillard in Chicago. Marker is a founding member of VOX – formed in 2007 – and a lead crisis counselor and media trainer.
