Graphic Design Intern (Spring), Los Angeles
Position Overview and Responsibilities
FleishmanHillard Los Angeles has an immediate opening for a graphic design intern to work with some of the very best public relations professionals in the industry on a variety of accounts across consumer, technology and lifestyle.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about visual communications, graphic design, is eager to learn, and is as committed to doing great work as we are. Interns should have the ability to juggle a wide variety of projects and work with varying production styles with demanding client expectations and deadlines. Go-getters with a positive attitudes and the drive to learn and contribute to the team thrive best in this role.
Candidates should possess advanced design skills and well-rounded design experience as demonstrated through a robust portfolio and “real world” work. The FleishmanHillard experience provides the opportunity to grow personally and professionally through exposure to client service and the inner workings of an international communications firm.
This is a full-time, paid internship with a three-month term. We are only considering candidates based in the Southern California area.
Working with the creative team to develop and produce:
- Social media content including Facebook and other social/online visuals, infographics, and promotional elements
- Logos/key visuals and style guides
- PowerPoint templates, presentation boards, and hardcopy proposals
- Working with diverse personalities across the firm, managing a busy workflow consisting of multiple projects with tight deadlines
- Participating in creative brainstorms
- Other duties as assigned
Candidates are expected to have high-level skills in the following areas:
- PowerPoint design
- Creative strategy
- Logo development and design
- Photo editing and manipulation
- Print/print process experience
- Branding concept and design
- Product styling and photography
- Social media design
The following additional skills are a plus:
- Packaging design
- Mobile app design
- UI/UX design
- Web design
- Multi-Media (i.e. print, outdoor, guerilla, etc.)
- Trade Show Material design
- Required Software Proficiency
Candidates are expected to have expert skills with the following software programs on the Macintosh platform:

- Premier and/or After Effects
Applications are welcomed from graduates with concentrations in all major communications areas, but backgrounds in communications design, graphic design, mass media, digital media, and public relations are given first consideration.
