Fall Internship - Mid to Late September - December 2017

FleishmanHillard’s Kansas City office seeks an Integrated Marketing/Communications Intern to join our team. We welcome candidates from a variety of majors and backgrounds, from those grounded in communications to those that support our practice groups of Brand Marketing, Healthcare and Food & Agribusiness. All candidates must be motivated self-starters with previous communications/PR experience. If hired, candidates will work directly with account staff on client business and active new business prospects. Primary responsibilities will include research and analysis reporting, traditional and social media content development and outreach, and writing and special projects. Candidates also will have opportunities to gain further experience in digital and social media. FleishmanHillard Kansas City is one of the largest offices in the firm’s global network. We offer a fast-paced, professional and results-driven environment, specializing in the firm’s brand marketing, healthcare and food/agribusiness industry sectors.
Tasks relevant to current and future client needs, including, but not limited to:
- Research (for currently existing clients and new business prospects)
- Results measurement and monitoring (traditional and social media)
- Targeting and pitching media (traditional and social)
- Writing media and/or client materials
- Social media content management
- Must have completed junior year of undergraduate study (first consideration given to graduating seniors and recent graduates)
- Must have prior leadership experience through collegiate, professional and/or community organizations
- Must demonstrate strong writing and interpersonal communication skills
- Must demonstrate an understanding of the evolving PR/marketing landscape (online and offline)
- Able to manage multiple projects across a variety of teams/clients and consistently meet deadlines
- Qualified candidates will have completed at least one relevant PR/marketing internship
