<p>Fleishman-Hillard has an immediate opening for an experienced public relations professional to join its Corporate Financial team in New York. The candidate will have responsibility for the execution of media relations programs for multiple clients in professional and financial services. In this role, the candidate will assist in the development and implementation of proactive media outreach, strategic client counsel and issues management among other tasks.</p>
<p>The role is heavily focused on media relations and requires the candidate to be a self-starter, able to gather information from numerous sources, develop media plans and pitch ideas, and successfully get them into the trade and national media while building and nurturing close relationships with top-tier business and financial press. Existing media relationships are essential. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:</p>
<p>• Work to proactively place favorable stories and develop strong placement track record<br />
• Work collaboratively and productively with team members, supporting senior account members<br />
• Utilize excellent writing skills in development of press releases, Q&amp;A, pitches, etc.<br />
• Build close working relationships with trade and national media<br />
• Research, conduct outreach and secure top speaking venues for clients</p>
<p>The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:<br />
• Be detail-oriented, highly organized and focused<br />
• Have a keen awareness and interest in developments in the financial and professional services sector<br />
• Effectively and professionally communicate to clients and team members<br />
• Work as a team player in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines under pressure<br />
• Display excellence in all basic account skills, including flawless media monitoring, preparation and merchandizing of clips, research skills on technology applications such as Factiva, CisionPoint, etc.<br />
• Social media and blogger relation experience strongly preferred</p>
<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>
<p>• Bachelor&#8217;s degree required.<br />
• Excellent existing relationships within the professional and financial services media field<br />
• 3-6years of public relations experience required, with a minimum of 2 years financial/professional services public relations experience<br />
• Financial public relations firm experience a plus<br />
• Proactive, engaging personality who can work well with all levels of client and firm management; show initiative, produce results<br />
• Superlative communications skills (oral, written, and presentation)<br />
• Advanced knowledge of business media and well-developed skills in building and maintaining media relationships<br />
• Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to work quickly under pressure, handling and prioritizing multiple assignments<br />
