FleishmanHillard Fueling Clients’ ‘Feast Mode’ at Super Bowl XLIX

As at the World Cup™ and the Olympic Games™, FleishmanHillard Sports is creating and leveraging opportunities for a variety of clients to feast on business building, branding, and fan engagement activations on the ground at Super Bowl XLIX – from NFL official sponsors to team owners.  Here is a snapshot of the action more than a dozen members of our teams (representing six U.S. offices) are fueling on behalf of clients on the ground this week in Arizona.

The video game giant is activating around its hallmark football franchise Madden NFL for the Super Bowl. EA is leveraging its partnership with Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy to speak to the realism of the game, highlight the accuracy of the franchise’s annual Super Bowl simulation and promote Madden Bowl to the media.  Last night’s Madden Bowl was one of the premiere annual Super Bowl parties where celebrities and NFL talent alike walked the red carpet in front of media and photographers en route to compete in or watch the single elimination video game tournament.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Gatorade is leveraging its elite athlete network – from J.J. Watt to Cam Newton – to promote the performance drink’s golden anniversary.  The athletes are appearing on national sports programs, including Dan Patrick, Mike & Mike, NFL Live and SportsCenter to discuss the brand’s rich history in sports. On Saturday, Gatorade will have a celebratory dinner hosted by Sage Steele with many of the brand’s former and current athletes in attendance.

On Thursday, SAP hosted a panel on “The Evolution of Fantasy Football and its Impact on Fans, Players and the League.”  The panel featured Pro Bowl running back DeMarco Murray, Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk, NFL.com fantasy football expert Michael Fabiano and executives from SAP and the NFL to discuss how information and data are revolutionizing the way that fans, players and the league view, consume and engage with fantasy football.  SAP is also providing fans and media with unique insights into what’s trending and how fans are talking about the big game on social media within its onsite NFL.com Stats Zone on Radio Row in the Media Center.

Visa enlisted Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to set the Guinness World Records title for the most one-handed catches in 1 minute. With Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees as his quarterback, Beckham recreated his highlight reel catches from this season, snaring 33 balls with one hand from a minimum distance of 10 yards during ESPN’s “NFL Live” program on Thursday.  Beckham and Brees are helping Visa show how easy it is to pay online using Visa Checkout: it’s so easy, you only need one hand.

Jacksonville Jaguars
In 2012, the Jaguars made a four-year commitment to play one home game each season at Wembley Stadium in London; in essence becoming the UK’s home team and centerpiece to the NFL’s International Series initiative.  Team owner Shahid Khan, per custom, is using the Super Bowl as a platform to connect with the dozens of UK and European journalists to advance the Jaguars’ brand, promote Florida tourism and business exchange opportunities, and speak on behalf of the NFL’s global initiatives.
