Day One: What’s Trending at CES 2015?
If you love technology, electronics and staying up to date on the latest trends, then you’re probably excited about the 2015 International CES! That’s right, the world’s largest tech and electronics trade show kicked off today in Las Vegas and our FH TrueIQ team is here to witness it all in real-time as the show’s official social media command center. An intelligence system that makes big data small through analysis and spectacular data visualization, the FH TrueIQ and content teams are identifying trending topics, products, brands and more throughout the show to surface the trends you need to know.
As we wrap up day one, some clear winners have emerged among the many events that have taken place today. Overall, SONY currently dominates as the top mentioned brand following their keynote yesterday evening. At the event, SONY CEO Kaz Hirai and SONY Electronics President Mike Fasulo announced the launch of a new Bravia TV complete with an Android-based OS, the Walkman Zx2, a 4K Handycam and more. Samsung and Android followed closely behind as the top second and third most-mentioned brands after their own product launches. Samsung specifically generated a high volume of conversation with their news about the S’UHD TV, SSD hard drive and new strategy to provide improvements to their household appliances design.
Mercedes-Benz and Audi’s driverless car concepts were also popular today, as both companies released new information about their projects in this area. Audi even teased enthusiasts with news that their driverless concept was already on its way and driving itself to CES! (yes – you read that right.)
As for hashtags trends, today’s top mentions included #CES2015, #Android and #Sony. Based on the overall popular topics of the day, these make perfect sense. I think it’s worth mentioning, however, that #CES2015 was promoted by Intel as a trending Twitter topic in both the US and UK.
Overall, there were 207,165 online mentions of CES 2015 today alone and this is just the beginning, so stay tuned for more trending topics and live updates from the International CES and our teams on Twitter with the hashtags #CES2015 and #FHTrueIQ as we continue to track what’s hot here in Vegas.
