FleishmanHillard New York is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and self-starting assistant account executive to join our dynamic office. This position provides the opportunity to work on exciting communications programs for leading pharmaceutical products, develop key relationships with major pharmaceutical clients, and manage the strategic outreach to the media, third party organizations, healthcare professionals and consumers. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in healthcare public relations with experience translating complex science issues into consumer-friendly messages and materials, as well as supporting social media and online strategies.

- 1-3 years of public relations or communications experience, preferably in an agency environment.
- Experience within the healthcare practice area of a public relations agency (consumer health, pharmaceuticals) is preferred
- Proactive media relations skills; proven success garnering coverage in local, national, and trade publications
- Excellent writing and editing skills, including the ability to develop and to strategically direct the creation of press materials and communications plans.
- Ability to determine strategic outreach plans to external audiences: consumers, media, third party organizations, healthcare professionals, etc.
- Keen understanding of the role of digital media in integrated communications strategies.
- A willingness to jump in and get the work done in an exciting and engaging work environment
- Works effectively within a team, demonstrating coordination, communication, and problem-solving contribution
- Flexible approach; has the ability to change priorities against changing client and team needs
