Position Overview and Responsibilities

FleishmanHillard San Francisco is seeking versatile and talented Vice President with a passion for “social connectivity” to join our Social + Innovation team. Part strategist, part hands-on tactician, the ideal candidate will be capable of envisioning, leading and incorporating social strategies into larger integrated programs including: traditional media relations, public relations, websites and other digital activations, advertising, and mobile technologies.  This ideal candidate will be a key leader on the San Francisco social + innovation team, and will be instrumental in cultivating and growing accounts while managing a team of high performers.

Responsibilities Include

  • Serve as senior social counselor and strategist embedded on account teams for multiple global brands.
  • Play a pivotal role in leading day-to-day social strategy for a variety of account teams, including content creation and oversight as well as project and account management.
  • Lead a team of high performing social strategists to maximize team performance.
  • Manage budgets and key engagements for an established and well-known client base, and make decisions to ensure accounts run effectively and efficiently.
  • Develop and execute social strategies for a range of social and online channels.  Help shape client content, stories, and messages, with the goal of integrating clients into the broader news cycle and trending social conversations.
  • Identify, cultivate, and manage high-level relationships with bloggers, industry experts and influencers.  Help shape client stories and messages, and actively pitch those communications to the blogger community.

Key Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience creating social media and integrated communications plans for a variety of clients, particularly those in the healthcare and B-to-B industries.  Agency experience is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated hands-on social media management  and execution (community management, strategy and content development, blog outreach, paid social executions) across all platforms and communication channels, including but not limited to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn and Google+.
  • Excellent writing  and editing skills, especially in creating content and managing social channels for brands on a regular basis. The ideal candidate will translate business and marketing objectives into creative and compelling copy.
  • Ability to absorb a high volume of information and be comfortable with providing quick counsel on editorial/response recommendations to clients.
  • Possesses passion about social media and speaking on behalf of a brand. 
  • Experience with social media monitoring tools (Radian6, Sysomos, Sprinklr, etc.).
  • Experience with social media management systems/platforms is preferred (i.e., Sprinklr, Spredfast, Percolate, Hootsuite).
  • Ability to show personality along with patience and a sense of humor.
  • Willingness to step up and be on, when necessary, even after others are off (…since social media doesn’t stop).
  • Energetic self-starter who has a sense of responsibility and the ability to work with a team or independently.
