Leela Stake

Leela Stake is a senior partner in FleishmanHillard’s San Francisco office and a trusted advisor to many of the world’s most influential businesses and foundations. She is a multiracial executive with a two decade track record of delivering results, empowering teams, and helping companies and organizations achieve greater purpose and diversity, equity and inclusion as they grow. Leela works on the leading edge of pressing issues facing people and our planet, including education, environmental sustainability, equity, responsible tech, women’s empowerment and workforce development. She is part of FleishmanHillard’s True Mosaic and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion global leadership teams and oversees FH4Inclusion, the agency’s global pro-bono initiative, which has contributed 20,000 hours and the equivalent of $5 million in time.

Leela was previously co-chair of the Global Sustainable Growth & Corporate Responsibility practice at APCO Worldwide and worked at The Asia Foundation in Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Nepal and the Philippines.

Leela graduated from Stanford with an MA and BA with honors and distinction and helped develop Stanford’s first social entrepreneurship curriculum. She was awarded the Ford Fellowship in Philanthropy and the Lyons Award for Service from Stanford.  Leela serves on the National Advisory Board for the Haas Center for Public Service at Stanford University, is vice chair of the board of the Conservation Corps of the North Bay and is on the Advisory Council of REDF.
