BEIJING, May 18, 2017 – FleishmanHillard today announced two key appointments that will strengthen the agency and build on its success in Greater China.
Helena He has been appointed general manager, head of digital and social engagement, to lead digital transformation for the agency in China. With more than 15 years’ experience working in both local and international agencies, He brings significant brand and consumer communications expertise to the agency. Most recently serving as @Comm Beijing’s general manager, her client portfolio included multinational clients in diverse sectors such as fast-moving consumer goods, electronics, financial services and sports.

Her work with these global brands has provided her with deep insights into the Chinese consumer and rich experience in developing creative, multiplatform activation campaigns targeted at Generations Y and Z. In addition, she has provided corporate and marketing services to leading Chinese companies, helping them to build their domestic profile and business.
Her appointment is a further step in the evolution of FleishmanHillard in China as a digitally-led communications agency, aligning with the firm’s global vision to offer clients an all-round service in the rapidly changing digital and social media landscape.
“As China continues to set the pace for global e-commerce, FleishmanHillard is intent on recruiting high-caliber candidates who can identify and develop digital solutions designed for the local consumer,” said Rachel Catanach, senior partner and president, Greater China for FleishmanHillard. “It’s clear that our clients want more digital capabilities from their PR firms and Helena’s appointment ensures we continue to cater to that need. Helena has an in-depth understanding of China’s digital landscape, making her ideal to be the driver of the firm’s digital offerings in China.”
In other news, Judy Wei has been promoted to general manager of consumer services for China. As senior vice president and partner at FleishmanHillard in Beijing, Wei has proven herself as a leading practitioner, running large global accounts such as the P&G business for MMK+, a specially created consortium of Omnicom PR agencies.
Judy Wei
“Judy has shown herself to be an impressive leader and one of the key figures, together with General Manager Jerry Zou, behind our agency’s exciting growth in Beijing. We have made a strong start to the year, and Judy’s appointment will ensure we have the right people in place to continue this momentum in China,” said Catanach. “I would like to congratulate Judy and Helena on their new roles; we believe that FleishmanHillard is well positioned for our next chapter of growth in China, thanks to our strong portfolio of clients and our deep pool of talent.”

Geoff Bilbrough Named GM, Patrick Yu Named Deputy GM
HONG KONG, 25 April, 2017 – FleishmanHillard has appointed Geoff Bilbrough general manager of its Hong Kong operations. Bilbrough has been deputy general manager and senior vice president at FleishmanHillard since arriving in Hong Kong four years ago from New Zealand; he became partner in 2016. In his new role, he will report to former managing director Rachel Catanach, who remains FleishmanHillard’s senior partner and president, Greater China.
“In addition to being a seasoned counselor, particularly in the areas of crisis communications, brand marketing and reputation management, Bilbrough will bring a renewed focus on operational excellence in all aspects of the business. His promotion supports the growth of the Hong Kong office and FleishmanHillard’s evolution into a fully integrated communications company in Greater China,” said Catanach.
FleishmanHillard in Hong Kong has also received numerous industry awards for its creative campaign work across a diverse portfolio of clients. In 2015, its excellence in corporate affairs was recognized when it received PublicAffairsAsia’s Gold Standard award for In-Country Consultancy. In 2016, Marketing magazine named the office B2B Agency of the Year (Gold).
“Geoff has been integral to the success of our Hong Kong office over the past four years and is highly respected as a senior counselor, team leader and mentor,” added Catanach.
Before joining FleishmanHillard, Bilbrough served as group operations director and then managing director (London) for Metia — formerly Write Image — a leading global digital marketing agency. While at Metia, he focused on general management, overseeing the company’s international offices in New York, Seattle and Singapore. Prior to this position, Bilbrough was Group Account Director at an agency in Wellington, New Zealand for 10 years. He also held roles in government, an industry lobby group and worked as press secretary for a minister in the New Zealand Parliament.
“Geoff is an impressive leader and superb at cultivating client relationships, securing new business and providing clients with strategic skills-based training and support. His new role is a very natural progression and leaves the Hong Kong office in excellent hands as we evolve into the region’s leading agency,” Catanach concluded.
Patrick Yu & Geoff Bilbrough
To support Bilbrough, Patrick Yu is promoted to deputy general manager. Yu joined the firm in 2005 and has risen through the ranks to become senior vice president and partner, and the lead of the region’s financial and professional services offering. Yu has a broad range of experience in strategic communications including reputation management, corporate marketing, media relations and managing international communications programs for financial institutions in the region.
In 2011, he was awarded FleishmanHillard’s prestigious John D. Graham Award of Excellence, which is given to counselors who demonstrate outstanding leadership and exemplify the firm’s values.
“In more than 10 years with the company, Patrick has worked his way up to be the agency lead for financial and professional services in the region, where he has built strong and valuable relationships with key members of the business and financial industry, including media. He will continue to play this essential role in addition to his new responsibilities as deputy general manager,” said Catanach. “I congratulate both Geoff and Patrick as they take the helm at this exciting stage of the company’s development.”

When the World Gets Noisy, Great Storytelling Breaks Through
ST. LOUIS, March 29, 2017 – FleishmanHillard (FH) today appointed Kristin Kryway Hollins, senior vice president and senior partner, to lead FleishmanHillard’s corporate reputation practice group in the Americas.
Kristin Hollins
“Corporate reputation directly impacts a company’s valuation, license to operate, ability to credibly expand its market position and attract top talent,” said Marjorie Benzkofer, FleishmanHillard senior partner and global managing director of the Reputation Management Practice. “Few can match Kristin’s ability when it comes to counseling the C-suite ‘in the moment,’ helping them chart the right path for their businesses and engage their key audiences in authentic ways true to their company values. This combination is particularly important with the fast-paced dynamics taking place in American business and politics today.”
In her new role, Hollins will continue to lead the full-service corporate reputation practice in San Francisco, while advancing FH’s capabilities across the Americas, including the use of data and integrated communications to address today’s reputational opportunities and challenges. Hollins will lead the rollout of FleishmanHillard’s Authenticity Gap brand reputation research that will be released in the coming months and is part of the FH cross-functional policy communications team advising companies on communications strategy. Hollins joins the Reputation Practice leadership team alongside Nick Andrews, senior vice president and senior partner, in EMEA, and Rachel Catanach, senior partner and president, Greater China, in APAC.
“I’m honored to be asked to serve in this important role for our clients and agency,” Hollins said. “We can help expand our clients’ momentum and navigate any risk situation working across our practice groups, including corporate reputation, public affairs, crisis and issues management, and social and innovation.”
Hollins joined FleishmanHillard in 2007 to unite corporate and innovation storytelling in a way that authentically conveyed value creation, societal contributions and sector leadership. Today, she helps companies in all sectors identify reputation building opportunities and works with integrated teams across the agency’s global network to engage their major corporate stakeholder groups including investors, employees and partners, as well as media, analysts and influencers.

NAFE Names FleishmanHillard to ‘Top Companies for Executive Women’ for Eighth Straight Year
February 27, 2017
Share
ST. LOUIS, February 28, 2017 – For the eighth consecutive year, FleishmanHillard has been named to the “Top Companies for Executive Women” list by the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE). The honor, which will appear in the February/March issue of Working Mother magazine, highlights organizations whose policies and practices encourage the advancement of women’s careers. Results are based on factors such as succession planning, profit-and-loss roles, gender pay parity, support programs and work-life balance.
“FleishmanHillard has a long record of building a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we’re honored to be included in this prestigious list,” said John Saunders, FleishmanHillard president and CEO. “We believe that the rich diversity of our team is critical to our business success, and we’re continuously challenging ourselves to provide an inspiring and motivating work environment.”
The recognition is especially inspiring as the firm celebrates its 70th anniversary with FH4Inclusion, a global initiative that includes a commitment of $2 million in pro bono services dedicated to social inclusion causes during its anniversary year.
“Many of our local offices chose FH4Inclusion projects that champion women,” said Lisa Moehlenkamp, FleishmanHillard chief of staff. “From providing a university education to females in Hong Kong to mentoring women studying marketing and public relations in Russia to supporting the Big Sister organization in Boston, our teams are helping blaze new trails for women around the world.”
While many factors are weighed to determine the companies that appear on NAFE’s list, a few of the reasons for FleishmanHillard’s continued recognition include:
Women make up 66 percent of the firm’s global workforce.
72 percent of employees promoted last year were women, many of them into management or senior management positions.
Women oversee several of the firm’s global regions, including Asia Pacific and the U.S. Central and Southwest regions.
Women hold the following executive leadership roles: chief of staff, chief information officer, general counsel and chief business development officer.
Women were appointed to 12 of the 20 seats in our leadership cabinet.
“NAFE honors FleishmanHillard for its long track record of advancing women,” says Dr. Betty Spence, NAFE president. “The company stands out for promoting client-facing women in key roles and for having a cabinet with women filling more than half the seats.”
NAFE was founded in 1972 and serves 20,000 members nationwide with networking, tools and solutions to strengthen and grow their careers and businesses. Working Mother magazine publishes the annual NAFE Top Companies list. NAFE.com provides up-to-date information, a community for women in business, and access to member benefits. NAFE is a division of Working Mother Media, owned by the Bonnier Corporation.
